David Jacobsen: flute, saxophone
“Do it with passion” is the motto in the studio of Dr. David Jacobsen, who has been teaching flute and saxophone in the Virginia Tech Department of Music since 1988. He performs on both instruments regularly in recitals, chamber music concerts, and soloist engagements here on the VT campus, as well as on national and world stages. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois. When not teaching, practicing, or performing, “Dr. J”, as his students address him, is typically engrossed in his avocational passions, skiing and gardening.
